  42.       This command can be accessed from an image menubar as 
  43.       <span class="guimenu">Image</span>-><span class="guimenuitem">Merge Visible Layers</span>.

  46.       "Merge Visible Layers" merges all layers of the image for which
  47.       an "eye" symbol is shown in the Layers dialog
  48.       into a single layer, leaving non-visible layers untouched.  It
  49.       is useful for merging a set of layers that may be scattered
  50.       around the layer list.  Selecting it brings up a dialog that
  51.       asks you to choose between three options for the size of the
  52.       final, merged layer:  "Expanded as necessary" means that it
  53.       will be made as small as possible without losing any of the
  54.       contents of the merged layers; "Clipped to image" means it
  55.       will be set to the size of the image and any layer contents
  56.       outside the image bounds will be lost; and "Clipped to bottom
  57.       layer" means what it says.

  61.       has the size of the largest layer of all of the visible 
  62.       layers. (Remember that a layer in GIMP can be larger than the 
  63.       image)

  67.       size equal to the image size. (Remember that layers in GIMP 
  68.       can be larger than the image itself. If you have such a

  73.       final layer size equal to the bottom layer. If the bottom 
  74.       layer is smaller than some of your visible layers, then
